In the edition of this year 2018, the Week of Science will take place during the week of November 5 to 9 in the UAL. It is the largest social communication event of science and technology in our country that aims to bring scientific and technological knowledge to society by disseminating the results of research among the population. Its objective is to achieve a greater social understanding of science and a better appreciation of the impact it has on daily activity and the improvement of our quality of life.
The University of Almeria, through the OTRI (Office of Transfer of Research Results of the Vice-Rectorate of Research, Development and Innovation), organizes a new edition this year and includes more than 30 activities with science and technology as protagonists, with a marked playful character, informative, didactic. The different workshops, lectures, games, interactive experiences, etc … cover a large and diverse number of scientific branches (chemistry, mathematics, geology, robotics, biology, psychology, nutrition, etc …) so that all students can find an activity of your interest
The CEMyRI, for its part will present on Monday 5 and Tuesday 6 November at 12 noon, in the classroom 3 of the Aulario IV, the activity: “Facing rumors to migrants”. In a changing context in which misinformation and the proliferation of fake news, false myths and rumors about migrants and refugee families predominate, it becomes necessary to present a workshop, based on active dynamics, capable of inviting reflection, from a critical and constructive approach, in which issues are addressed on the construction of stereotypes, prejudices, cultural diversity and on how to learn to dismantle them.
The Science Week 2018 is aimed and aimed to students of secondary schools and vocational training institutes in the province of Almeria.
